Bonjour! I’m Helene Cardon, Your Wardrobe Nerd.
I am a 40 year old mom and personal stylist with a passion for slow fashion. I moved to the U.S. from France over a decade ago and live near Boulder, Colorado. After helping over 100 women refine their personal style, I have become Boulder's sustainable personal stylist. Here is my story!
Even though my love for fashion started way back, I used to work as a project manager in the corporate world in San Francisco. I left my career and moved to Colorado when expecting my first child, and following his birth I lost my sense of self and felt that I looked frumpy. Meanwhile my closet was filled with office attire, party dresses from pre-children times and ill-fitting maternity clothing, and it also wasn’t practical for the local climate. And let’s be honest, I’ve definitely had more than one “what on earth am I wearing?” moment!
Meet the crew behind the style!
I wanted to put the same care and attention into curating my wardrobe as I had into planning my baby's nursery, realizing that I had often neglected my own needs in the process. The goal was to create a wardrobe that wasn’t just comfortable and practical but also, a reflection of my authentic self. A wardrobe so efficient that instead of holding me back, clothing would become a tool that supports me in reaching my personal aspirations. Today I’m proud to say that this wardrobe exists and 75% of it was bought preloved, on the secondhand market. I make the most of my wardrobe and have fun with my style.
Ever since, it's been a topic I’ve been drawn to—constantly learning and updating my knowledge of both fashion and styling techniques, embracing my passion as a true wardrobe nerd. It all started organically, helping friends with their wardrobes, then their friends... Until one day, one of them told me that editing her style with me was one of the best things she had done for herself in a while—she had not realized just how much she needed this! That moment made me realize the true impact of my work and gave me the motivation to turn my passion into a dedicated service: The Wardrobe Edit Session.
I aim to help women have fun with their style. To support them in cleaning out their closet, getting a fresh start and making room for who they want to be. To give them the foundation of an efficient wardrobe, a true appreciation of what works for them.
